Sascha is a badass punk chickie that I knew in the 90's in New York City....we reunited on Facebook through a mutual friend and have been blissfully friendly ever since. Sascha has in the last three weeks been diagnosed with either late stage 3 or early stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma....She has numerous large tumors that are not only causing her severe pain, but are also causing high fevers daily. She does have insurance but her insurance pays for so little that she may as well not have any at all. Fortunately, she has been accepted in a clinical trial and will be receiving chemo therapy. The problem is, although this is a "clinical trial" she still has to pay for it. Essentially, she has to pay to be a guinea pig in order to save her life. At 37 years young she should not have to be thinking about whether or not she can afford life saving medical treatment. Fortunately there are some amazing people out there (like you) who are willing to help. There is no such thing as a donation that's too small, and with that being said, there is no donation that's too big. Please let me know if you need/want any further information. UPDATE as of 1/10/13: Thankfully, after months of painful chemo treatments and shots that made her bones feel as though they were burning, Sascha is in remission!!!! Her story is far from over as she has thousands of dollars in medical bills piling up. She is still far from her donation goal to help pay for the treatments that may very well have saved her life. JUST WANTED TO GIVE EVERYONE AN UPDATE: Sascha had to return to the hospital from Sunday through Tuesday for a blood transfusion, as her white blood count was dangerously low. She is now home and doing better. She is still exhasted, but she has been trying to walk a mile on the treadmill a day. She has a vegan diet, all organic and is juicing fresh fruits and vegetables daily. She thanks everyone for their love, prayers and support. She needs donations badly!!! Her medical bills are piling up. Please, as previously stated, NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL! Sascha's boss has secured a venue for her benefit and I have received some new items that will be raffled off, including and original watercolor by Illustrator Frankie Ciena.
